‎WhatsApp Tests New Voicemail-Style Feature for Missed Calls on Android
‎

‎WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh update that introduces a voicemail-like feature for its calling system. The new option, spotted in the Android beta version 2.25.23.21 by WABetaInfo, is currently being tested with a limited group of users.
‎
‎With this update, if a WhatsApp voice call goes unanswered, callers will now see an extra “Record voice message” button alongside the usual “Call again” and “Cancel” options. This addition lets users instantly leave an audio note for the recipient without exiting the call screen, making the process faster and more convenient.
‎
‎The same shortcut also shows up in the chat window of the missed call, providing another quick way to send a voice message. Although WhatsApp already allows users to share audio notes through the mic icon in chats, this streamlined feature removes extra steps, making communication more efficient—especially when leaving urgent updates.
‎
‎At the moment, the voicemail-style function is limited to select beta testers on Android. WhatsApp and its parent company, Meta, have not yet confirmed when this feature will become available to all users.
