Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Series Unveiled at IFA 2025: Slimmer Design, Faster Chipset, and Bigger Storage Options

Samsung has officially refreshed its flagship Galaxy Tab S series at IFA 2025, introducing the new Galaxy Tab S11 lineup. While the design changes are subtle, the company has focused on performance upgrades, longer battery life, and improved usability with the S Pen.

Sleeker and Lighter Build

The Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra look very similar to their predecessors, but Samsung has made small refinements. The S Pen stylus now magnetically attaches to the side instead of the back, making it easier to access. The bezels are slightly thinner, and the front camera cut-out has been minimized.

In terms of weight, the Tab S11 Ultra is now slimmer at 690 grams compared to 718 grams on the Tab S10 Ultra. Thickness has also been trimmed by 0.3 mm, giving the tablets an even sleeker profile.

Display: 11-Inch 2K and 14.6-Inch AMOLED Options

Samsung continues to rely on its AMOLED technology, known for vibrant colors and deep contrast.

The Galaxy Tab S11 retains an 11-inch 2K display.

The S11 Ultra features a massive 14.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2960 × 1848 pixels.

Both models support a 120Hz refresh rate and reach up to 1600 nits brightness, making them perfect for multimedia, gaming, and professional use.

New MediaTek Processor for Speed & Efficiency

Under the hood, Samsung has switched to the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC, manufactured using a cutting-edge 3nm process. This upgrade delivers:

Higher clock speeds with one Cortex X925 core at 3.62 GHz,

Three Cortex X4 cores at 3.4 GHz,

Four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz,

Graphics handled by the Mali Immortalis 925 GPU with 12 cores.

The result is smoother multitasking, faster gaming, and improved energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.

Memory, Storage, and Battery Life

Samsung differentiates the two models with RAM and storage options:

Tab S11: Up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Tab S11 Ultra: Up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

Battery capacity has also been slightly improved:

S11 Ultra now features 11,600 mAh (up by 400 mAh).

S11 keeps its 8,400 mAh unit.

Combined with the more efficient processor, users can expect longer usage times, although not a massive leap over the Tab S10 series.

Camera Changes – One Sensor Less

Interestingly, Samsung has reduced the front camera setup on the Tab S11 Ultra. While the Tab S10 Ultra had dual 12MP sensors, the new Ultra sticks with a single 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The rear cameras remain unchanged, offering a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.

Budget Option: Galaxy Tab S10 Lite

Alongside the premium tablets, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, aimed at budget buyers. It comes with:

A 10.9-inch LCD display at 2112 × 1320 resolution and 600 nits brightness.

Exynos 1380 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (expandable via microSD).

More modest 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras.

Priced at just $349, making it an affordable entry into Samsung’s tablet ecosystem.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series doesn’t reinvent the wheel but builds on its predecessor with a faster chipset, slimmer design, upgraded AMOLED displays, and more powerful configurations. Power users will gravitate toward the Tab S11 Ultra with its massive 14.6-inch display and 1TB storage option, while budget shoppers can look to the new Tab S10 Lite for an affordable yet capable alternative.
