Microsoft Brings Cross Device Resume to Windows 11 Insider Build
Microsoft is enhancing the Windows 11 experience with a new feature called Cross Device Resume, designed to make Android-to-PC continuity seamless. Much like Apple’s Handoff, the feature lets users resume apps on their Windows PC that were previously opened on their Android phone.
Available in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview (Build 26200.5761) for Dev and Beta Channel testers, the feature is rolling out gradually. For now, examples include continuing a Spotify track directly on your computer after starting it on mobile.
This update strengthens Microsoft’s long-term vision of creating a connected ecosystem across platforms. With tools like OneDrive, Microsoft Edge, and Link to Windows already enabling strong integration—especially for Samsung users—Cross Device Resume takes productivity and convenience a step further.
In addition to app continuity, Build 26200.5761 also refines the lock screen battery icon and introduces a new touch gesture for Copilot+ PCs. By pressing and holding two fingers anywhere on the screen, users can quickly launch “Click to Do” actions for faster navigation.
Microsoft’s move brings Windows 11 closer to offering the kind of cross-device synergy Apple users
enjoy.
