Apple Delays Standard iPhone 18 Model as Foldable iPhone Takes Center Stage

A recent report from Korea’s supply chain suggests that Apple will not be rolling out the standard iPhone 18 in 2026. Instead, the tech giant is said to be reshaping its iPhone release roadmap to make room for its long-awaited foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut next year.

Industry insiders claim Apple has adjusted its lineup strategy, with the standard version of the iPhone 18 now pushed back to the first half of 2027. According to sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the company will release the entry-level iPhone 17e in early 2026, followed by the iPhone 18 Air, Pro, Pro Max, and the foldable model in the second half of the year.

The shift reportedly stems from Apple’s desire to give the foldable iPhone the spotlight during its launch window. By delaying the standard model, Apple aims to avoid overshadowing its first foldable device, while still ensuring a balanced release schedule for both premium and budget-friendly models.

From 2027 onward, Apple is expected to expand its lineup further by introducing six models annually. This will include the standard iPhone and entry-level e-model in the first half of the year, while high-end versions along with the foldable iPhone will follow in the second half.

Analysts interpret this revised strategy as a way for Apple to boost iPhone sales and maintain momentum across different price ranges. With the addition of a foldable model and an entry-level device, Apple is targeting a wider market while making sure each new release has its own spotlight
